The festival’s primary aim is to create a scholarship fund, which will contribute in part to the tuition costs of one Greek and one Cypriot student. The first scholarship will be given exclusively to the University of Sussex and the second will be open for all Universities in the UK. Each scholarship will amount to £2000. The criteria for granting the scholarships will be based on the academic performance and the financial needs of the candidates. The selection procedure will be carried out by a suitable third party. The money for the scholarships will be raised both through the festival events and via donations given through an online crowdfunding campaign. If funding overshoots our initial target, then any additional amounts will be given either as an additional scholarship or to benefit the Greek/Cypriot community through the organisation and the Hellenic Societies of Sussex and Brighton University.
